Every business is checked by a person before its page goes live: identity, business, insurance and any registration the law requires for the work. How we check

  • Fully managed by WebEstate
  • Exclusive trade territory
  • 12 months of hosting and maintenance
  • All qualified enquiries included
  • No per-enquiry charges
  • Optional paid advertising available

How it works

Four steps to your own local website

STEP 1

Choose your trade and territory

Tell us what you do and where you work. WebEstate checks whether the exclusive territory is available.

STEP 2

Get verified

Complete a short secure application online: your details, your services and the documents your trade needs. We check them, and a person approves your business before anything is published.

STEP 3

We build your area page and website

Your business goes on your trade brand's page for your district, with your name, services and verified ratings. We also build, host and maintain your own website, and carry out the organic promotion included in your licence.

STEP 4

Receive your customer enquiries

Enquiries from your area page and your website come straight to you, with no per-enquiry charge and no other business in your trade on the same page.

What you get

Everything you need, managed for you

Your exclusive area page

Your business named on your trade brand's page for your postcode district, with your services, photos and verified customer ratings, plus your own professionally generated website.

12 months of hosting and maintenance

Hosting, a secure (SSL) connection and routine updates for the whole licence period.

All qualified enquiries included

Every qualified enquiry received through your website is yours, with no per-enquiry fee and no commission on your jobs.

Fully managed service

No website tools to learn. Tell us what to change and we do it.

Basic organic promotion

Search-friendly pages, local wording and technical set-up, included in your licence. We cannot guarantee rankings or enquiry numbers.

Optional paid advertising

Google or Facebook ads are available if you want them, quoted and charged separately and only with your approval.

Enquiry notifications and records

Each enquiry is emailed to you and kept on record, so nothing gets lost.

Exclusive territory protection

While your licence is active, no other business in your trade can take the same territory with us.

Verification and trust badges

Your checks are included. Each check you pass shows as a badge on your page, such as Identity checked or Insurance checked, so customers can see you are genuine.

Why exclusive

Your area, not a shared list

Shared-lead websites

The same customer request is often sent to several businesses, and you usually pay for each lead, whether or not you win the job.

Online directories

Your listing sits next to your competitors in the same area, and customers compare you side by side.

WebEstate

One checked business per trade in each postcode district. One fixed yearly price with every enquiry included. Your name, your photos, your verification badges and your verified ratings on the page.

How other services work varies by provider and plan; check their current terms before you compare.

Verified traders

Every business is checked before its page goes live

Customers trust a page more when they know someone has checked the business behind it. So before your page is published, we check who you are, that your business is genuine, and that you hold what the law requires for the work you advertise. A person makes the final decision; software never approves anyone on its own.

Identity

We confirm who is responsible for the business, either online with a photo of your ID and a selfie, or by our team reviewing your evidence. We never ask for your date of birth on the application.

Your business

Trading name, address and evidence that you are trading. Limited companies are checked on Companies House. Sole traders and partnerships do not need to be registered there.

Contact details

We confirm your email with a secure link and your phone number with a code or a call back, so enquiries reach you and nobody else.

Insurance

We check your public liability certificate, and employers' liability if you have employees. Where needed, we confirm the policy directly with your insurer or broker.

Trade registrations

Only what the law or a scheme requires for the work you advertise. For example, gas work needs Gas Safe registration; a plumber who does no gas work does not. Voluntary memberships are never presented as legal requirements.

An honest page

Reviews must be genuine, photos must be your own work, and every claim on your page must be true. You confirm your page details before it goes live, and we check them too.

The badges customers see

Each badge appears on your page only when that check has actually been passed. If a check lapses, its badge disappears.

✓ Identity checked✓ Business details checked✓ Insurance checked✓ Professional registration checked✓ WebEstate approved trader

Badges show that WebEstate checked these things at the time. They are not a guarantee of workmanship and not an accreditation by any official body. What each badge means

Checks do not stop at approval

We keep track of insurance and registration expiry dates and remind you before they run out. If something lapses, your page is paused until it is renewed, and your enquiries are never passed to another business.

Every page is checked before it is published

Before your page goes live we test it: your details are correct, the enquiry form reaches you, no sample or placeholder content is left, and the page is secure. Live pages are monitored after that.

Your information is protected

Documents are encrypted, only our verification team can open them, and every view is logged. Identity documents are deleted after the decision. We never use your documents for marketing. Read the privacy notice

Questions

What tradespeople ask us

Who owns the website?

WebEstate owns, hosts and maintains the website. You hold an exclusive licence to use it and to receive its enquiries for your trade and territory while your licence is active.

Who owns the domain?

WebEstate owns the trade brands and their pages, for example webestate.co.uk/plasterpoint/hayes-ub3, and the address of the website we build for you. If you want a domain of your own, we can register one in your name as a separate service.

What are PlasterPoint, FlowRight and the other brands?

They are WebEstate's trade brands, one for each group of trades. Each has a page for every postcode district. Your licence makes you the business shown on that page for your trade, with your name, contact details and verified ratings.

Can I cover more than one postcode district?

Yes. When your district is available, the check shows the free districts next to it. Add them to the same order at a lower first-year price each, up to 5 districts per trade. Each district has its own page and its own 12-month licence.

Why do some districts cost more?

Districts with more demand cost more, and quieter ones can cost less. The check shows the price for your district before you pay, and it does not change during your licence.

What exactly does £149.99 include?

Twelve months of your exclusive territory, a professionally generated website, hosting, SSL, routine maintenance, basic organic promotion, enquiry collection and notifications, and every qualified enquiry received through your website.

Is the price monthly?

No. £149.99 is one payment that covers your first 12 months.

Are customer enquiries charged separately?

No. All qualified enquiries received through your licensed website are included. There are no per-enquiry charges and no commission on your jobs.

What counts as an exclusive territory?

One trade in one postcode district, for example plastering in UB3. We confirm the exact district before you pay. While your licence is active, no other business in your trade can license the same territory with us.

What happens if I already have a website?

You can keep it. Your WebEstate website runs alongside it and brings in its own enquiries.

Are Google Ads included?

No. Paid advertising is not part of the licence. Basic organic promotion is included.

How much does paid advertising cost?

We quote it to suit you: a management fee plus the advertising spend, shown separately. Nothing starts without your approval.

What happens after 12 months?

We contact you before your licence ends. You can renew to keep your territory, or let it end. If it ends, the territory may be offered to another business in your trade.

What is the renewal price?

The standard annual price, currently planned at £299.99, shown to you before you renew. It is never taken automatically without your agreement.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Tell us within 14 days of paying and before your website goes live for a full refund. After that, your licence runs to the end of its 12 months and is not renewed. The full terms are shown before you pay.

How long does activation take?

We aim to have your website live within 10 working days of receiving your business details and photos and approving your verification, and we tell you when it is.

What checks do you carry out?

Your identity, your business, your email and phone number, your insurance, and any registration the law or a scheme requires for the work you advertise, such as Gas Safe for gas work. We also check that the reviews, photos and claims on your page are genuine. A person approves every business. More about verification

Do I need to be a limited company?

No. Sole traders, partnerships and companies are all welcome. Only limited companies and LLPs are checked on Companies House.

What documents will I need?

It depends on your trade and business type, and your application page lists exactly what you need and why. Usually: identity evidence (or the online ID check), evidence of trading, your insurance certificate, and any registration your work requires. You upload them securely online.

Is verification charged separately?

No. Verification and your trust badges are included in your licence.

What if my insurance or registration expires?

We remind you before it runs out. If it lapses, your page is paused and its badge removed until you send the renewed document. Your territory stays yours, and your enquiries are never passed to another business.

What if you turn down my application or ask for changes?

We tell you why on your application page and by email. You can correct your details, add evidence, or ask for the decision to be reviewed by a person.

Do the badges guarantee the work?

No. They show that WebEstate checked particular things, such as identity and insurance, at the time. They are not a guarantee of workmanship and not an official accreditation.

What service levels do you commit to?

Every licence includes our Service Level Agreement: at least 99.5% website availability each month, a response within 4 working hours if your site is down, within 1 working day for other questions, and routine changes within 3 working days. If we miss the availability target, we add 7 days to your licence for that month.

What do you expect from me in return?

Every licence includes a Service Delivery Agreement. You contact each lead from your website within 2 working hours, keep its status up to date in your portal, and look after customers well, with the aim that every job earns 4.5 to 5 stars. When you mark a job as completed, we ask that customer for a rating. If your average falls below 4.5, we will warn you first and agree a 60-day improvement plan with you.

Are enquiries guaranteed?

No. We work to bring in enquiries, but we cannot guarantee a number of enquiries, rankings or sales.

Can I buy my own domain separately?

Yes. Ask us and we will quote for registering a domain in your own name. It is kept separate from your territory website.

Check your area

Is your territory available?

Choose your trade and enter your town or postcode. We check the exclusive territory there straight away.

Prefer to talk first, or join a waiting list?

We only use your details to reply to this enquiry.

Privacy

When you check a territory or use the enquiry form we collect what you type: your name, business name, email, phone, trade, the town or postcode you searched, and, if you give them, your website and a description of your business. We record the result of each check.

We count page visits and steps of the territory check to see how the website is used. This uses no cookies and does not identify you; campaign tags in the web address (utm) are recorded with your enquiry.

We use these details to show your result, to contact you about the territory you searched and, if you go ahead, to set up and run your licence. This is needed to respond to your request. We only send you news and offers if you tick the separate marketing box, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell your details.

If you do not go ahead, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your details at any time by replying to any email from us.

Websites we run for tradespeople have their own privacy notice covering their customers' enquiries.

Licence payments are taken by Stripe on its own secure page. We never see or store your card details. We keep payment and licence records for as long as tax law requires.
